Homo for the Holidays!
Well it’s Xmas Eve and tomorrow it will be Christmas. I always prefer to call it Xmas (It helps remove christ from christmas). At my house the eve is more important or at least the food is more impressive, because we do the feast of a zillion fishes!! Usually we have like 25+ people at my house but this years its only gonna be 14!
The meal is as follows course by course and pictures will follow later. Oh and its all prepared by my mother.
1st Course
Baccala (Cod thats been soaked and prepared with peppers olives and vinegar)
Seafood Salad (Clams, mussels, scuingelli (Conch), shrimp, calamari, celery and olives)
Shrimp and Lobster Salad (In a lime cilantro sauce with celery)
2nd course
PASTA with fish sauce (Crabs, Lobster, Shrimp, Calamari, Clams, Mussels, Scuingelli’s
3rd Course
Fried Filet
Fried Scallops
Smelts (Ewwww)
Shrimp Scampi
Brocolli
4th Course
Cookies by mom (PEcan Crunchies, Nutballs, TRICOLORS/RAINBOW COOKIES!!!!!!
While Im digesting all this food I will be watching classic xmas tv specials and movies with the boy. Specifically alot of my favorite ones and as well as some new gems. My personal favs are:
1. A Charlie Brown Christmas- Classic but so is every charlie brown holiday special. Plus the soundtrack is nothing short of perfect.
2.American Dad “The Best Christmas Story Never”- This is a more recent special and its sort of amazing. It involves time travel, ghost of xmas past, the creation of disco,and a “Holiday Rapist”!
3. Alf “Xmas Special”- I just found it on Hulu, fuck yes!
